What you can run on Discord bot hosting

Any long-running bot process in one of the supported runtimes. Upload the project, set the start command and the bot stays online.

Node.js Discord bots

discord.js, Eris, Oceanic and any other Node.js library. Ship package.json with a lockfile; the usual start command is node index.js or npm start.

Python Discord bots

discord.py, nextcord, Pycord, hikari and friends. Ship requirements.txt; the usual start command is python3 main.py.

Java Discord bots

JDA, Javacord and Discord4J. Upload the built jar with its dependencies and start it with java -jar bot.jar.

How deployment works

  1. Upload your code

Use the panel file manager to upload the project without node_modules or virtual environments; include the dependency manifest.

  2. Set the start command and secrets

Tell the panel how to launch the bot and keep the Discord token out of the code, in an environment variable or a .env file that never enters Git.

  3. Install dependencies and start

Run npm install or pip install -r requirements.txt from the console, start the bot and read the console output; a healthy start logs the bot login.

  4. Leave it running

Automatic restarts bring the process back after a crash; the console and the panel’s monitoring show what the bot is doing while you are away.

The step-by-step guide covers hosting options, what Node.js and Python bots need, token and intent setup, and the errors that most often take bots offline.

How to host a Discord bot 24/7

Discord bot hosting FAQ

Can I host a Python Discord bot?

Yes. Upload the project with its requirements.txt, select the Python runtime, install the dependencies from the console and set the start command to your main file, for example python3 main.py.

Can I host a Node.js (discord.js) bot?

Yes. Upload the project with package.json, run npm install from the console and use node index.js or npm start as the start command. Match the Node.js version you developed on.

How do I keep my Discord bot online 24/7?

The bot runs continuously on the server, and automatic restarts bring it back if it crashes. The remaining causes of downtime are in the code: invalid tokens, missing privileged intents and unhandled exceptions, all of which show up in the console.

How many bots can I run on one plan?

Plans differ in the number of bot instances (one, two or three) and in memory. Pick by the number of separate processes you need and by each bot’s measured memory use.

Where do I put the bot token?

Never in the code. Use an environment variable or a .env file uploaded next to the project and excluded from version control. If a token leaks, regenerate it in the Discord Developer Portal.

Which is better for bots, Python or Node.js?

The host does not care; both are long-running processes with a runtime, dependencies and a start command. Pick the language you and your library prefer.
