Choose your Minecraft server type

Every plan can run any of these server types, and you can switch later from the panel. Each guide covers setup, RAM and compatibility for that software:

Paper & Purpur

Plugins (Bukkit, Spigot, Paper), TPS tuning and anti-lag settings for survival, SMP and minigame servers.

Paper & Purpur server hosting

Modded: Forge, NeoForge & modpacks

One-click CurseForge, Modrinth and FTB modpacks, with RAM sizing from light packs to 200+ mods.

Modded Minecraft server hosting

Fabric

Lightweight mods, server-side performance mods such as Lithium and fast support for new Minecraft versions.

Fabric server hosting

Bedrock Edition

Servers for players on Windows, phones, tablets and consoles, with their own software list, setup and RAM guide.

Minecraft Bedrock server hosting

Vanilla, Spigot and BungeeCord are also available. Want Java and Bedrock players together? Run Paper with the Geyser and Floodgate plugins — see the Geyser setup guide.

How much RAM does your Minecraft server need?

RAM depends on the software, the number of mods or plugins, how many players explore at once and your view distance. These are sensible starting points:

ServerRAM to start withMatching plans
Vanilla or Paper with a few friends2–4 GB2 GB (Hermes), 4 GB (Hefesto)
Paper SMP · 5–20 players4–6 GB4 GB (Hefesto), 6 GB (Apolo)
Light modpack · up to ~50 mods4–6 GB4 GB (Hefesto), 6 GB (Apolo)
Medium modpack · 50–150 mods6–8 GB6 GB (Apolo), 8 GB (Atenea)
Heavy modpack · 200+ mods10 GB or more16 GB (Zeus), 24 GB (Cronos), 32 GB or larger, up to 64 GB
Busy public server · 40+ players8 GB or more, or several servers behind a proxy8 GB (Atenea), 16 GB (Zeus), 24 GB (Cronos) or larger, up to 64 GB

Estimates, not guarantees. The RAM calculator gives a number for your exact setup and the RAM guide explains why more RAM does not fix CPU lag. You can upgrade later.

Hardware, protection and support

The same infrastructure applies to every plan, from the smallest to the largest.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

Minecraft’s main thread depends on single-core speed, so plans run on high-clock Ryzen 9 CPUs. See the hardware specs.

NVMe storage

Fast storage shortens world loading and chunk saving, which matters most on large worlds and modpacks.

DDoS protection

Network DDoS protection is included on every plan, together with a 1 Gbps uplink.

Automated backups

Backups run automatically. Take a manual backup before big changes such as a version or modpack update.

Locations: Miami and Dallas

Both locations are in the United States, suited to players in North America and Latin America. Players in Europe can join with higher ping.

Tickets and Discord support

Contact the team by ticket or Discord for setup, migration or billing questions. Service health is on the status page.

Move your server from another host

  1. Download your files

Stop the old server and download the world folders plus the plugins or mods and config folders.

  2. Order a plan

Pick the RAM you need and the same server software and Minecraft version you used before.

  3. Upload with the file manager or FTP

Keep the folder structure unchanged so plugins and mods find their data.

  4. Start and share the address

Check the console for errors, then invite your players. Support can help by ticket or Discord.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Minecraft server cost?

Every plan costs $1.10 per GB of RAM per month (regular price $1.20 per GB): $1.10 for 1 GB, $8.80 for 8 GB and $70.40 for 64 GB. All sizes include the same hardware, DDoS protection and automated backups.

Which Minecraft Java server software can I run?

Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Vanilla, Forge, Fabric and BungeeCord. You can switch from the panel; take a backup first when moving between plugins and mods. Bedrock Edition runs on the same plans — see Minecraft Bedrock hosting for its software.

Are Java and Bedrock on different plans?

No. The same Minecraft plans run either edition — you choose the server software after ordering.

How much RAM do I need for 5–10 players?

For Vanilla or Paper with a few plugins, 2–4 GB is usually enough for around 5 players and 4–6 GB for around 10. A light modpack needs about 4–6 GB and a medium modpack 6–8 GB. Heavy packs with 200+ mods usually need 10 GB or more.

Is 8 GB RAM enough for a Minecraft server?

For most Paper servers and for light or medium modpacks with a small group, yes. Heavy modpacks with 200+ mods usually recommend 10 GB or more — check the pack’s server requirements.

What is the largest Minecraft plan?

Plans go up to 64 GB of RAM at the same $1.10 per GB. More RAM helps heavy modpacks and servers with many loaded chunks, but it does not fix main-thread lag: check MSPT with the TPS/MSPT calculator before moving up.

Can I install CurseForge modpacks?

Yes. The one-click installer supports CurseForge, Modrinth and FTB modpacks, and you can also upload a server pack yourself.

Can I switch from Paper to Forge later?

Yes, change the server software in the panel. Plugins do not run on Forge and mods do not run on Paper, so back up your world first and expect to reinstall add-ons.

Can I upload my existing world or migrate from another host?

Yes. Upload your world, plugins or mods and configs with the file manager or FTP, keeping the same Minecraft version. Support can help by ticket or Discord.

Where are the servers located?

Our active locations are Miami and Dallas in the United States. They suit players in North and Latin America; players in Europe can join with higher ping.

Is DDoS protection included?

Yes, every Minecraft plan includes network DDoS protection at no extra cost.

Ready to start your Minecraft server?

Pick the RAM you need, choose your server software in the panel and invite your players. Plans start at $1.10/month and go up to 64 GB, always at $1.10 per GB.
